In the neighborhood
Every now and then I run across the name of a Massachusetts community I'd never encountered before. It happened again today -- a coworker is looking for a kitten (what a coincidence!) and saw a listing for a shelter in "Accord, MA". Trying to figure out where that is, I found a state website listing the correlation of neighborhood/locality names to their legal municipalities.

Maybe I'm just a big geek, but I think it's way cool.

I like that Accord lists in Hingham, where I believe you once lived! I'll have to look later to see if RI has a list like that. Very cool!

Quincy, actually, so I have an excuse. But as I observed to DA (who has lived in Weymouth most of her life and also had never heard of Accord), I have been through that area quite frequently. It's better known as Queen Anne's Corner, a name we both recognized immediately.
