Normally I LIKE the silly things ....
Eighty-four ladybugs on the wall,
Eighty-four lady bugs.
Scoop ten down,
Shoo them outside ...

Eight-one ladybugs on the wall?!

Somebody's not playing fair here ....

How did they all get inside?

Yesterday's warm weather inspired a swarm of them around my house, and something about the way I had an air conditioner in one of the windows was letting them in despite the various seals. Then I found that the kitchen screen door and one bedroom window screen had similar problems.

Now that the weather has cooled, they're all gone again. But it was very disconcerting!

I can imagine! Glad it was short-lived.

Been there
If you live adjacent to a forest, they tend to look for a warm place once the nights start getting colder, around early October. We have 500+ acres of public use land adjacent to our back yard in souther NH. I walked into my four-year-old son's bedroom last night to find over 200 of them on the walls and ceiling. He thought it was cool! Once I'd cleaned them out, I started in on the dining room...the hallway...the family room... The migration generally ends by early November.

Re: Been there
Yeah, I get occasional population spikes, but the sudden warm day inspired a frenzy and they found all the weak spots in my screens and air conditioner setups. I don't mind them, but they did take a long time to round up. Sounds like you had even more fun; good thing your son thought it was cool.
