Time
I don't have enough time in the day. I know I'm not unique in that, at all, but it's still frustrating. I adore my job, but it is ludicrously intense, and I have very little time or energy left for reading and writing.

So I've just volunteered away something like eight hours a week. What was I thinking?

But ... Nine Lives of Norton seems to be well-run and well-organized (certainly better than my city's cat efforts), and they need volunteers for cleaning and feeding and socialization. And I have to do something to counter the criminally negligent and abusive wastes of oxygen out there.

So. Yay volunteerism. (And miserable, painful, lonely death to anyone who would mistreat a companion animal.)

Work broke my brain. Like, for realz. I had time last fall for stuff, didn't I? I wrote stuff. I focused. I volunteered for charity stuff.

Now? nnnnnngh

Having a nice week so far? I'm off until Monday, which is nice.

I don't feel like I've actually had a week off! Sadface!

(I wish we could take off alternate months. Work one week, take one off, repeat. How cool would that be?)

Here's hoping your time off has been useful.

I hope it's the kind of volunteer work where you get energy back! At least when the cats are feeling better again :)

It's tiring, but at the same time it does feel good to know I've given attention to several lonely kitties. Thanks!

You are a good person.

Thank you. (It's a work in progress, of course.)

Thank you for posting the link to the story about the cat in PA, too, by the way. As terrible as the story is, publicizing that sort of thing is vital.
