So as I mentioned yesterday, a new cat is staying with me. I took her to the vet last night and she's now staying in my basement. She's a real sweetheart; she loves being scritched. (She has nipped at me twice, but both times I had actively annoyed her in stressful situations.) I'm calling her "Alice" for now; the vet needed a name for the paperwork, and that popped into my head, but I'm not wild about it. She doesn't really feel like an "Alice" to me somehow. I'm therefore soliciting suggestions for a better name. I have calls out to a few cat placement agencies, but I know they're not eager for more clients, so I'm not expecting to hear back particularly quickly.

I'm posting a photo of her here for those who might be interested; she's a real cutie. (She looks cranky in the photo; she finds the cage stressful.)
